Voltage-Mode and Current-Mode Quadrature Oscillator with Grounded Capacitors and Resistors Using Differential Voltage Current Conveyor Transconductance Amplifier

A new quadrature oscillator circuit using a single differential voltage current conveyor transconductance amplifier (DVCCTA) and four all grounded passive elements is presented. The proposed circuit provides two current quadrature outputs at high impedance and three voltage quadrature outputs simultaneously. The oscillation condition and oscillation frequency are independently controllable. The bias current of DVCCTA can provide electronic tunability to the oscillation frequency. The use of only grounded capacitors and resistors makes the proposed circuit attractive for integrated circuit implementation. Simulation results are based on using TSMC 0.18 μm process complementary metal oxide semiconductor technology and supply voltages ± 0.9 V to verify the theoretical analysis.
